The 2025–26 season is the 150th season in the history of Middlesbrough Football Club and their ninth consecutive season in the Championship. In addition to the domestic league, the club are also participating in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup.

Prior to the season starting, Rob Edwards was appointed as the new head coach on a three-year contract.[1]

Pre-season and friendlies

On 27 May, Middlesbrough announced their first pre-season friendly, against Rangers.[27] A week later, a second fixture was confirmed, against Hartlepool United.[28] A third trip was later added against Bradford City.[29] A home friendly was later announced, against Deportivo La Coruña.[30] On 4 July, a trip to Mansfield Town was added.[31]
