The 2025–26 season is the 139th season in the history of Manchester United, their 34th season in the Premier League and their 51st consecutive and 101st overall season in the top flight of English football. The club will compete in the Premier League, FA Cup and the EFL Cup, but not in European competitions – a first since 2014–15.

Jonny Evans was the last player in the squad from the days of Sir Alex Ferguson, and with his retirement United are also without a Premier League winner for the first time since the competition's inaugural season in 1992–93.

Pre-season and friendlies

Before the start of the season, Manchester United faced newly promoted rivals, Leeds United in Solna, Sweden. Then they traveled to the United States to take part in the Premier League Summer Series. The series was made up of three games: against West Ham United in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on 26 July; Bournemouth in Chicago, Illinois, on 30 July; and Everton in Atlanta, Georgia, on 3 August.[1] Upon their return from the United States, United hosted Fiorentina at Old Trafford in their final pre-season fixture on 9 August for the Snapdragon Cup.[2] United completed pre-season winning both the Premier League Summer Series and the Snapdragon Cup.
