The Canyon Fire is a wildfire burning near Castaic, California that began on August 7, 2025. As of August 14, the fire has so far burned 5,370 acres (2,173 ha) and was 100% contained.[2]

The Canyon Fire was first reported on August 7, 2025, at around 1:25 pm PST.[2]

Cause

The cause of the fire is under investigation.[2]

Impact

Thousands have been placed under evacuation orders.[3] Numerous celebrities homes are also threatened by the fire.[4]

Two outbuildings were destroyed by the fire.[4]
