Kierpień [ˈkʲɛrpjɛɲ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Głogówek, within Prudnik County, Opole Voivodeship, in southern Poland,[1] close to the Czech border. It lies approximately 6 km (4 mi) north of Głogówek, 22 km (14 mi) east of Prudnik, and 31 km (19 mi) south of the regional capital Opole.
The village was founded in the 13th century in a territory granted to the Cistercians by Duke Vladislaus I of Opole.[2]
