The 1940 Union (Kentucky) Bulldogs football team represented Union College—now known as Union Commonwealth University—of Barbourville, Kentucky as a member the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) and the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA) during the 1940 college football season. Led by 12th-year head coach J. Richard Bacon, the Tigers compiled an overall record of 5–1–1 with a mark of 0–1–1 in both KIAC and SIAA play.[1][2]
