Hakan Büyükçıngıl (born 1 January 2004) is a Turkish freestyle wrestler who competes in the 125 kg division. He represents the Ankara ASKİ Sports Club and the Turkish national team.[1]
Career
In 2021, Büyükçıngıl won a bronze medal in the freestyle 110 kg category at the European Cadet Wrestling Championships held in Samokov, Bulgaria.[2]
In 2023, he became European junior champion (U20) in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, by defeating Yusif Dursunov of Azerbaijan in the final. He reached the final after a 10–0 technical superiority against Kacmer Kaminski of Poland in the quarterfinals and a 12–0 technical superiority against Levan Lagvilava of France in the semifinals.[3]
Büyükçıngıl has also won bronze medals at the World Junior Wrestling Championships: in 2023 in Amman and in 2024 in Pontevedra. At the 2025 Yaşar Doğu Tournament in Kocaeli and the 2025 Ulaanbaatar Open, he claimed bronze medals in the senior category (125 kg).
He was the Turkish national champion after defeating Adil Mısırcı in the final at the 2025 Turkish Wrestling Championships held at Taha Akgül Sports Hall in Ankara.[4]
