Matej Gashtarov (Macedonian: Матеј Гаштаров; born 15 November 2006) is a Macedonian professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Serbian SuperLiga club Red Star Belgrade.[2]
Club career
A native of Skopje, At age of fifth Gashtarov begined his football career at the Metalurg Skopje academy and then he moved to Vardar academy.[3][4][5] Then later moved to younger categories of FK Mineralac Vranjska Banja, From there, he moved to Red Star Belgrade young categories.[6]
On 30 April 2025, Gashtarov signed his first professional contract with Red Star Belgrade.[7][8]
Gashtarov was a member of Red Star Belgrade club's junior team during the 2024–25 UEFA Youth League competition, where he was standard member for the club.[9][10]
On 26 March 2025, Gashtarov was for first time included in the Red Star Belgrade club's roster in Serbian Cup match against OFK Beograd, But he doesn't appear on the field.[11][12]
On 15 August 2025, In the 5th round of the newly started season of the Serbian SuperLiga he made his official debut, against Mladost Lučani. He came on the field replacing Vladimir Lučić in the 88th minute.[13][14][15]
International career
He played for the Macedonian national teams at Macedonia U18, Macedonia U19 and Macedonia U21 levels.[16][17][18]
