Jilling van Dijk (August 13, 1918 – ) was a Dutch chess player. He was born in the municipality of Velsen located in the province of North Holland in 1918.[1]
He is notably known as a first winners tying with Philip Bakker, a Dutchmen who were participants in the tournament also, as recognized one of the first winners along him in the Tata Steel Chess Tournament in 1938. Trivially, in the tournament, they were only of 4 players as a staff tournaments for Hoogovens during in this "purely" national event at that time.[2] The Tata Steel Tournament Chess however, historically titled "Hoogovenstoernooi 1938, Invitatiegroep, Round Robin"; at the time when Hoogovens Tournament conclusion in 1938, final rankings appear twice to Jilling Van Dijk that were received to him, appending as well scoring to 2½/3 each.[3][4] Jilling Van Dijk also participate in the second Hoogovens Tournament after the first latter of Hoogovens Tournament in 1938, but this time in 1939, he was placed in 3rd place.
