Wooroona is a rural locality in the Central Highlands Region, Queensland, Australia.[2] In the 2021 census, Wooroona had a population of 12 people.[1]
Geography
The Fitzroy Developmental Road passes to the east.[3]
There are a number of protected areas in the locality:[4]
- Dawson Range State Forest in the north of the locality
- Blackdown Tableland National Park in the north-west of the locality[5]
- Expedition State Forest in the south of the locality[6]
Demographics
In the 2016 census, Wooroona had a population of 10 people.[7]
In the 2021 census, Wooroona had a population of 12 people.[1]
Education
There are no schools in Wooroona. The nearest government primary school is Woorabinda State School in Woorabinda to the east. There is no nearby government secondary school, but Wadja Wadja High School in Woorabinda is a non-government school providing secondary education to Year 12, operated by Wadja Wadja Aboriginal Corporation of Education.[8] Other alternatives are distance education and boarding school.[9]
