Wierzbięcin [vjɛʐˈbjɛnt͡ɕin] (German: Grünhagen)[1] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Słupsk, within Słupsk County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[2] It lies approximately 9 km (6 mi) west of Słupsk and 114 km (71 mi) west of the regional capital Gdańsk.

History

The suffix -hagen of the historic village name is typical for settlements founded by Germans during Medieval Ostsiedlung.[3]
