Weightlifting at the 1987 Pan American Games was one of the 30 sporting disciplines held during the tenth edition of the Pan American Games, which took place in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States, from August 7 to 23, 1987. The weightlifting competition featured ten men's weight classes, ranging from flyweight (–52 kg) to super‑heavyweight (+110 kg), following the standardized snatch and clean & jerk formats. Athletes from across the Americas competed for medals in each division, contributing to their nations’ overall standings in the Games. The event continued the tradition of Pan American weightlifting, held since 1951, and served as a key milestone in the lead-up to the 1988 Summer Olympics.
