Vie (French: [vie]; transl.Life) is the upcoming fifth studio album by American rapper and singer Doja Cat, scheduled to be released on September 26, 2025, through Kemosabe and RCA Records.[1][2] The album features Doja's return to pop music, with themes of "love, romance, and sex", and is '80s-inspired.[3][4] The album's lead single, "Jealous Type", will be released on August 21, 2025.

Background

Doja Cat released her fourth studio album Scarlet in September 2023, which debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200, which served as a "masculine" follow-up to her third studio album, Planet Her (2021).[5][6] The album included Doja's first solo number one single "Paint the Town Red" and in October she embarked on her The Scarlet Tour.[7] She later featured on Lisa's "Born Again" and Jack Harlow's "Just Us" which both peaked at number 68 and 57 on the Billboard Hot 100.[8][9]

In October 2024, Doja tweeted on X (formerly Twitter) "vvv" and "album" which led to fans thinking she was creating her fifth studio album.[10][11] On May 5, 2025, Doja Cat released "Crack", which was an outtake from her fourth studio album Scarlet, and later an outtake from Vie, exclusively to her website for 24 hours.[12][13] She later collaborated with Marc Jacobs she previewed a snippet of the song "Jealous Type" she attended the Met Gala event the same day, in which she confirmed in an interview the song to be a single from the album.[14][15]

On July 21, 2025, Doja tweeted on X that the album had been completed, In an article for V Magazine, Doja confirmed the album for a fall release date.[16][17][18] On November 12, 2024, Doja shared a list of 13 tracks considered for the album.[19] On April 13, 2025, Doja shared a new list of 16 tracks, with "Break My Heart", "Take Me Dancing", "Anything", "Aint News", "Slow Burn", "Wood Holly", "Dirty Underground", "Did I Lie" and "Appreciation" omitted. The list included the following song titles: "Turn the Lights On", "Slide", "One More Time", "Make It Up", "Lipstain", "Kink", "Jealous Type", "I Like You", "Happy", "Gorgeous", "Couples Therapy", "Come Back", "Cards", "Amen", "All Mine" and "Acts of Service".[19] On August 14, Doja would officially announce the album would be set to release on September 26.[20][21]

Release and promotion

Singles

"Jealous Type", the lead single of Vie, is set to be released on August 21, 2025, it was first revealed on Doja Cat's website of the single's release date. On August 6, 2025, Doja launched her Vie hotline ahead of the release of "Jealous Type".[22] On August 12, 2025 Doja officially announced the single and unveiled it's cover.[23]

Live performances

Doja Cat performed at the Outside Lands festival, where she performed multiple songs, but notably songs, "Woman", "Juicy", "Rules", "Demons", "Tia Tamera", "Need to Know", "Kiss Me More", "Say So", "Agora Hills", "Paint the Town Red", and the unreleased song "Jealous Type".[24][25][26][27] Doja Cat performed song "Cards" and "Take Me Dancing" for the first time at a private party at the Oasis club later that night.
