Trnovska mafija drugič is a novel by Slovenian author Dim Zupan. It is the sequel to Zupan's 1992 novel, Trnovska mafija. It was first published in 1997. It is the second part of a trilogy, concluded with the novel Trnovska mafija - v tretje gre rado (2003).[1]

Plot

The story begins when members of the Trnovo Mafia invite classmates Marjanček and Jaka to a school dance, falsely telling them that everyone should wear pajamas. When the two boys appear in pajamas, they are humiliated in front of the entire school. Seeking revenge, they decide to take action, even though no one fears them.

On a summer day, the group plays table tennis, leaving their clothes in the locker room. Meanwhile, Marjanček and Jaka destroy the clothes with a knife. Shocked and worried, the Mafia members realize that revenge from the Trnovo forest may be near. They embark on a cycling trip, during which a series of coincidences leads them to fall into a deep pit, from which they cannot escape.

A major investigation is launched by their parents and the police, while Marjanček and Jaka begin to worry and feel guilty. The knife they used came from the Trnovo forest, leading "Sad Miha" to propose a trip to that region of Slovenia. In the end, Marjanček and Jaka join the search, successfully rescuing their classmates from the pit. The Trnovo Mafia gains two new members: Marjanček and Jaka.[1][2]
