Medal record
|
Tim Duckworth (born June 18, 1996) is a retired British-American decathlete. He competed internationally for Great Britain and is the third-highest scoring decathlete in British history behind Daley Thompson and Dean Macey.[2]
College
In 2018, Duckworth set the British national record in the heptathlon and joined Ashton Eaton as the only other NCAA male track and field athlete to win both the decathlon and the heptathlon in the same year.[3][4][5]
International
Duckworth finished fifth in the decathlon at the 2018 European Athletics Championships,[6] earned a silver medal in the heptathlon at the 2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships,[7][8][9] and won back-to-back gold medals in the long jump at the British Athletics Championships in 2018 and 2019.[10][11]
Duckworth went on to became the English decathlon champion in 2021.[12][13]
Post-career
Persistent injuries caused Duckworth to retire from athletics.[14] He now serves as an assistant coach in the combined events and pole vault program at the University of Alabama.[4]
Personal life
Duckworth is married to pole vault athlete Olivia Gruver.[14]
