Background
"The Only Hope for Me Is You" was originally created during the sessions for Conventional Weapons, but was not included on the album and was later re-recorded for Danger Days.[3]

The song was first released as a promotional single on October 12, 2010.[4] The song was later released as a single on August 26, 2011.[2]
Critical reception
Chris Ryan of MTV calls the song "a soaring, mid-tempo track, covered in digital dust, with stabbing keyboards and a heart-wrenching chorus".[5]
In popular culture
Although not in the film, "The Only Hope for Me Is You" is included on the soundtrack to the 2011 film Transformers: Dark of the Moon.[6]
