The Marlow Murder Club is a British cozy mystery television series based on Robert Thorogood's series of novels set in the English town of Marlow, Buckinghamshire.[1][2] The show originally aired on U&Drama and can be streamed on the U Streaming Service.[3]
The first series of The Marlow Murder Club, consisting of four episodes, is a single teleplay derived from Thorogood's original novel of the same name. The second series consisting of six episodes (three two-parters), one teleplay based on Thorogood's second novel in the series (Death Comes to Marlow) and the other two written by Lucia Haynes (Vera) and Julia Gilbert (Midsomer Murders),[4] began airing at 8pm on Wednesday 19 March 2025 on U&Drama HD.[5]
Plot
Series one
Three women (led by Judith Potts) investigate a series of killings in Marlow, Buckinghamshire (where Thorogood now lives with his family).
After two murders the trio are taken on as advisors to the police by DS Malik. They suspect a woman rower – until she is also killed and like the first two murders is left with a possibly Masonic medallion on her.
She is connected with the local rowing club, so there are several scenes of the river with rowers and with Potts having her regular swim in the river.
The murderers are three men, who kill on behalf of one of the other two – while ensuring that the man with a motive to dispose of the victim has a watertight alibi (like Patricia Highsmith's Strangers on a Train).
