The Family Next Door is an Australian television drama which began airing on 10 August 2025 on ABC.[1] Based on the novel of the same name by Sally Hepworth, the series follows Isabelle who moves into a cul-de-sac but when a mystery casts suspicion on the neighbours she decides to investigate.[2]
Plot
Isabelle moves into a house in Osprey Point, where she manages to charm the residents of the neighbourhood, but when a mystery casts suspicion on her new friends she takes it upon herself to investigate and find out the truth.

Production
On 21 October 2024 ABC had announced three productions were in active production those being the second series of Mystery Road: Origin and Return to Paradise and had announced that the series had gone into production in Victoria on 22 November, [5] with funding secured by Screen Australia and VicScreen and co-produced with Beyond Entertainment and Muse Entertainment.[6]
The series filmed on location in Anglesea, Victoria, and several suburbs alongside the coastline. The series created over 200 jobs for cast and crew.[7]
On 6 July 2025, ABC announced the release date for Sunday 10 August with the trailer released days prior.[8]
