Talia (Hebrew: טַלְיָה) is a feminine given name of Hebrew origin. It is often interpreted as a combination of ṭal ('dew') and the theophoric suffix -yāh, meaning 'dew of God,'[2] though it also exists in Hebrew as the feminine form of ṭaleh ('lamb'). Related names appear in the Tanakh, such as Avital and Hamutal, and an inverse form, Yehotal, is recorded in Aramaic documents from the Jewish community of Elephantine in the 5th century BCE.[1]

It is also a variant spelling of Thalia and a short form of Natalia.[3]
