Sundays (Spanish: Los domingos) is an upcoming drama film directed by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa starring newcomer Blanca Soroa in the leading role. Patricia López Arnaiz, Miguel Garcés, Juan Minujín, Mabel Rivera, and Nagore Aranburu appear in supporting roles.
The film is set to have its world premiere at the 73rd San Sebastián International Film Festival in September 2025 ahead of its 17 October 2025 theatrical release in Spain by BTeam Pictures.
Plot
The plot follows idealist young woman Ainara who is undecided about which university degree to choose and ponders about the possibility of joining a convent instead.[1][2]

Production
The project, then reported to be in development, was announced in May 2024.[4] The film is a Movistar Plus+ co-production with Sayaka Producciones, Buenapinta Media, Think Studio, and Colosé Producciones.[4][5] In early 2025, prior to the start of filming, Ruiz de Azúa told that her previous works Lullaby and Querer were, in a way, "bricks in the house" of Sundays.[3] Principal photography began on 20 February 2025.[2] Shooting locations in Bilbao included the Calle Rodríguez Arias.[2] Bet Rourich worked as cinematographer.[6]
Release
Sundays is set to premiere at the 73rd San Sebastián International Film Festival, in competition for the Golden Shell.[7][8]
BTeam Pictures is set to release the film in Spanish theatres on 17 October 2025.[2][6]
