Srebro iz modre špilje (Silver from the Blue Cave) is a Young adult fiction novel by Slovenian author Slavko Pregl. It was first published in 2003.[1][2] The novel won the Večernica Award in 2004.[2]
Plot
The central story of the novel follows a three-week summer vacation for four teenagers, Andrej, Zarja, Gal, and Klemen, on a secluded island. What initially seems like a boring trip turns into an exciting adventure when the teens stumble upon a thrilling discovery. As they search for treasure, they form strong friendships and romantic connections. The novel suggests that the true treasure isn't silver, but the bonds they forge and the memories they create. This "silver from the blue cave" represents the intertwined ties of love and friendship, a form of happiness they will carry with them as a memory.[1][2]
