Ana Sofía Cedeño Briceno (born August 10, 2006) is a Panamanian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Northern Super League club Halifax Tides FC.

Early life

Born in Panama, Cedeño practiced gymnastics before dedicating herself to soccer at age 10.[2][3] Her family moved to Texas when she was 11.[2] She briefly attended Westside High School in Houston before transferring to MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas, during her freshman year in 2021.[3] She totaled 92 goals and 60 assists in three seasons at MacArthur before graduating early.[2] She earned ECNL All-American honors while playing for Solar SC in 2024.[4]

Club career

Cedeño began training with National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) club Seattle Reign as a non-roster invitee in the 2025 preseason, reuniting with former Solar SC teammates Emeri Adames and Ainsley McCammon.[2] On March 12, 2025, Seattle announced that the club had signed Cedeño to her first professional contract on a one-year deal and she would join USL Super League side Brooklyn FC on loan through June.[5] She had previously been committed to play college soccer for the UCLA Bruins.[2] However, twelve days later on March 24, she agreed to the mutual termination of her contract to explore other opportunities.[6]

In August 2025, Cedeno joined Halifax Tides FC of the Canadian Northern Super League.[7]

International career

Cedeño is eligible to represent Panama and the United States internationally.[8]

Cedeño was called up to the United States under-19 team for a training camp in October 2024.[9] In February 2025, Panama head coach Toña Is said she wanted to call up Cedeño in the near future.[8]
