The Silicon Valley International Invention Festival (SVIIF) is an annual international festival dedicated to inventions, innovations, and new technologies. It is organized by the International Federation of Inventors' Associations (IFIA) in cooperation with local and international partners, and takes place in Santa Clara, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley.
History
The festival was first held in 2017, initiated by Alireza Rastegar, President of IFIA, as a platform where inventors, researchers, and startups could present their work and connect with stakeholders. Since its inception, SVIIF has included participants from more than 30 countries and has been used as a venue for presenting new inventions.[1][2]
Objectives
The main objectives of SVIIF include:
- Presenting new inventions and technologies from around the world
- Facilitating networking between inventors, investors, universities, and industries
- Providing awards to selected innovators
- Encouraging international cooperation in science, technology, and entrepreneurship
Participation
SVIIF includes inventors, researchers, universities, companies, and startups from different countries. More than 30 countries have taken part, including the **United States, United Arab Emirates, China, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Morocco, Germany, Greece, South Korea, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Poland, Croatia, Sri Lanka, India, New Zealand, Iran, Philippines, Thailand, Lebanon, Vietnam, Tunisia**, and others.[3][4][5]
Awards ceremony
The festival concludes with an awards ceremony, where winners receive medals, diplomas, and special prizes. Awards are presented by representatives of IFIA, the United Inventors Association (UIA), and local authorities including the Mayor of Santa Clara.

Organization
SVIIF is organized by IFIA, a non-governmental organization founded in 1968 in Geneva, Switzerland. The festival cooperates with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the United Inventors Association (UIA) for special prizes and jury participation, and is supported locally by the City of Santa Clara. Messages from the Mayor of Santa Clara and representatives of the organizing institutions appear in the official guidebook each year.[6]
A video message from Mr. Marco M. Alemán, Assistant Director General of the IP and Innovation Ecosystems Sector at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), has also been published online.[7]
