Sihina Sarungal (The Dream Kites) (Sinhala: සිහින සරුංගල්), is a 2025 Sri Lankan Sinhalese children's drama film co-directed by Dr. Upul Weerasinghe and Tharaka Adhikari.[1] The film is produced by Naveen Rathnayaka.[2] It stars child artist Methika Senarath in lead role where director himself with Hemasiri Liyanage, Ananda Athukorala, Sathischandra Edirisinghe, Cletus Mendis and Kumara Thirimadura made supportive roles.[2]

Production and release

The film is co-directed by Dr. Upul Weerasinghe and Tharaka Adhikari. Upul Weerasinghe commonly known as "Upul Mama" has a career spanned over three decades in television and theatres as a producer and program coordinator. He also worked as a story teller in several children's programs.[4] Naveen Rathnayaka is the Producer and Sanath Bhashwara Karunaratne is the screenwriter. Rohana Wanniaarachchi is the assistance producer and Chandana Edirisinghe and Aravinda Rathnayaka are the assistance director. Manjula Padmakumara made cinematography, Shan Alwis made editing and Chandana Priyankara made art direction.

Costume designer is Lakmal Athukorala, whereas Janaka Ranasinghe and Sakush Mihidul Rajapaksha are the makeup artists. Still photography co-handled by Indika Mallawarachchi, Sayura Weerasinghe and Anil Nayananada. Drone cinematography is handled by Manilka Shehan, where Sayura Weerasinghe is the creative designer and Palitha Godage is the chief technician :

The Muhurath ceremony was held at the Royal Grand Paradise Hotel, Gonawala, Kelaniya.[2] The premiere was screened at the Regal Cinema in Dematagoda.[1]
