Selcuk Sasivari (born 29 August 1989) is a Swiss football manager who currently works as an assistant coach for FC Lugano in the Swiss Super League.[1][2]
Early life
Sasivari is a native of Weiningen, Switzerland.[3]
Education
He completed vocational training as a computer scientist and is a federally certified vocational trainer. He obtained the UEFA A License in 2017,[4] and is currently pursuing the UEFA Pro License, which involves rigorous in-person training and certification by UEFA-affiliated institutions.[5]
Playing career
Sasivari played as a full-back for local clubs including FC Schlieren.[6]
Managerial career
He began coaching youth teams at FC Dietikon, Team Zugerland and Grasshopper Club Zürich.[7]
From October 2019 to January 2024, he worked as assistant coach for FC Schaffhausen, under coaches including Martin Andermatt, Murat Yakin and Hakan Yakin. Following Hakan Yakin’s departure in May 2023, he briefly served as caretaker manager for the final two matches of the 2022–23 season.[8]
He then returned to his assistant role under André "Bigi" Meier.[9]
In mid-2024, Sasivari joined FC Lugano as assistant coach, working under Mattia Croci-Torti.[10][11]
He also served as a match analyst for the Switzerland national football team during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the UEFA Nations League, and UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany, collaborating closely with head coach Murat Yakin.[12][13]
Business activity
Outside of football, Sasivari is active in the real estate sector as an entrepreneur.[14][15]
