Sayali Sanjeev (née Sayali Chandsarkar; born 31 January 1993)[1] is an Indian film and television actress from Mumbai, Maharashtra, who works in Marathi films and television serials. She has received awards including a Filmfare Award for Best Actress in Marathi.[2] she made her Cinema Debut in Marathi Film Police Line and over the years She has appeared in successful films including Aatpadi Nights (2019), Basta (2020), Jhimma (2021), Goshta Eka Paithanichi (2022), Har Har Mahadev (2022), Jhimma 2 (2023) and Ole Aale (2024) and became one of the top actress of Marathi Cinema.[3]

Career

She began her television soap career with Kahe Diya Pardes of Zee Marathi and her Marathi film career with Police Line. But her breakthrough Film was Aatpadi Nights For Which she earned her first Nomination for Best Actress At the 5th Filmfare Awards Marathi.[4][5] In 2019, she made her OTT debut with 'Rajshri Marathi' YouTube channel's 5 episode webseries, 'U Turn'.

In 2021 She worked in the Tanaji Ghadge directed Marathi film Basta for which she earned her second consecutive Nomination of Best Actress at the 6th Filmfare Awards Marathi.[6] also she made her comeback on the Marathi television With, Shubhmangal Online.[7] Year ended on a high note With Critically acclaimed and Box Office Successful Film Jhimma, it is Second Highest grossing Film of 2021.[8]

In 2022 she started in Shantanu Rode's National Award Winning Movie Goshta Eka Paithanichi Proved to be a Turning Point in her Career. She Played a simple and naive woman, film tells her epic struggle that keeps getting complex at every step like a puzzle. For her performance in the film Goshta Eka Paithanichi she won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress at the 7th Filmfare Awards Marathi and earned nomination of Maharashtra State Film Award for Best Actress.[9][10] her other release of the year was Har Har Mahadev a epic historical action drama film proved to be a major commercial success earning more than 25 crore on box office and become her highest grossing film.[11][12] also it became the third highest-grossing Marathi film of 2022.[13]

2023 Started With a four year delayed release Satarcha Salman, Subsequently She next seen in Urmi. she Collaborated for the third time With Hemant Dhome in Jhimma 2 Sequel of her Superhit Movie Jhimma. Jhimma 2 earned critical praise and was successful at the box office. Following the success of Jhimma 2 she paired with Siddharth Chandekar in Critically and Commercially Successful movie Ole Aale in 2024.
