Sault Ste. Marie station in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada is a railway station which acts as the terminus for the Algoma Central Railway train service. The Algoma Central Railway is a subsidiary of Canadian National Railway.
The original Sault Ste. Marie station was at Algoma Central Railway head office at 289 Bay Street built in 1912 and now a commercial office building co located with Station Mall.[1] In the 1970s the station (and Agawa train tour) moved to the single floor building at 129 Bay Street and in the parking lot on the west end of Station Mall. [2] Regular service to Hearst ended in July 2015.[3] The 129 Bay Street station was closed in 2021 when it moved to 87 Huron Street in a train station like structure built at the former St Mary’s Paper mill.[4]
