Sanjay Gagnani is an Indian actor who works in Hindi television and films. He is best known for playing villain and romantic roles in some of the most popular Indian TV shows. He became widely known for his role as Prithvi Malhotra in Zee TV’s long-running series Kundali Bhagya.[1]


Early life and education

Sanjay Gagnani was born in Bilimora, Gujarat, India. He completed his early education in Gujarat. Later, he studied Mass communication and Acting, which helped him prepare for a career in the entertainment industry. He was passionate about performing from a young age. Before starting his career in television, he improved his acting skills by doing Theatre and attending acting workshops.[2]

Career

Sanjay Gagnani started his acting career in 2010 with the television show Bairi Piya on Colors TV. In the following years, he appeared in several Indian television shows, playing both positive and negative roles.[3]

In 2011, he appeared in Tere Liye on Star Plus, followed by Hamari Devrani in 2012. He was also seen in Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veera (2012) on Star Plus, Encounter (2014) on Sony Entertainment Television, Fear Files (2014) on Zee TV, and Ek Rishta Saajhedari Ka (2016) on Sony TV.

Sanjay gained major popularity for his role as Prithvi Malhotra in Zee TV’s long-running series Kundali Bhagya. His performance as a villain in the show became one of the most memorable negative characters in Indian television.[4]

Apart from television, he has also acted in films. In 2012, he appeared in the movie Rakhtbeej and also played a role in Heroine, directed by Madhur Bhandarkar.

Personal life

On 28 November 2021, Gagnani tied the knot with Indian model and actress, Poonam Preet Bhatia in New Delhi.[5][6]
