Early life and education

Brock was raised in Westchester County, New York. He attended Northwestern University's Medill School for his second education and graduated with a bachelor's degree in English. He then pursued his Master of Science in journalism from the same university.

Career

Brock began his career at WTVR-TV a CBS affiliate based in Richmond, Virginia where he spent 4 years as an anchor and reporter before joining KNTV, an NBC owned and operated station based in the Bay Area in 2012 as a reporter and analyst and while there, launched the weekly network program Reality Check. In September 2014, he was promoted to morning anchor at the station. After nearly three years holding that role, he then became a San Francisco reporter, covering a variety of news in the city, including crime, politics, public interest, and everything in between.

In September 2019, Brock was promoted again to work at NBC News as a correspondent and was based in Miami, Florida.[1] He was notable for covering a wide range of topics, from politics and business to sports and entertainment, along with covering the 2021 Tokyo Olympics with reporters Natalie Morales, Anne Thompson, and Dr. John Torres.[2] During his coverage of the Olympics, he reported on the change in technology of timing during the event, from a simple stopwatch in the early days to the cutting-edge motion sensors used from that day forward and talked to the sisterhood of the U.S. Olympic team in Tokyo, Japan.[3]

On August 29, 2024, Brock was promoted again, as an NBC News correspondent based in New York, returning him to where he was born and raised.[4]
