Robert Parks-Valletta

Robert Parks-Valletta is an American actor, producer, television host, and philanthropist. He is known for his recurring roles on The Young and the Restless and for appearing in series such as NCIS: Los Angeles, Hawaii Five-0, and True Blood. He also appeared on the Bravo reality series Vanderpump Rules during its sixth season.

In addition to acting, Parks-Valletta is the founder and CEO of The Destination Channel, a production company that develops lifestyle programming. He has produced and hosted over 400 episodes of local and syndicated television, including the Destination and Staycation series. His work on Staycation has earned him nine regional Emmy Awards from the Pacific Southwest Chapter, San Francisco/Northern California Chapter, and the Dallas/Lone Star Chapter.[1][2][3][4][5]

He is also the author of two books and is the younger half-brother of actress and supermodel Amber Valletta. [6]

Life and career

Parks-Valletta was born and raised in San Diego, California. He graduated from Escondido High School in 1999, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California State University, Long Beach in 2004.

He began his acting career in the early 2000s, appearing in both television and film. His television credits include guest and recurring roles on shows such as The Young and the Restless, Days of Our Lives, NCIS: Los Angeles, Hawaii Five-0, True Blood, CSI: NY, and CSI: Miami. In 2017, he appeared as himself during the sixth season of the Bravo reality series Vanderpump Rules, which featured his relationship with cast member Scheana Shay.[7] [8]

In 2022, Parks-Valletta produced several travel programs under The Destination Channel, including Destination Chicago, Destination LA, Destination SF, and Destination Dallas. [9][10]

Activism

In 2009, Parks-Valletta founded Tag the World, a nonprofit organization aimed at raising awareness and funds for five causes: children, cancer, animals, Africa, and the environment.[11] That year, he and his sister Amber Valletta hosted a fundraising event in partnership with the American Humane Film & Television Unit to promote the charity.[12]

The charity sold sterling silver necklace tags, each corresponding to one of the five causes, and donors could designate which cause their contribution would support. The tags were also intended to help raise awareness by symbolizing personal connection to the selected cause.

Tag the World gained support from a number of public figures and celebrities, including actors Shia LaBeouf, Wilmer Valderrama, and Joey Fatone, as well as athletes and musicians.[13] The organization hosted several public events to promote its mission, such as a charity triathlon held in Waikiki in 2010.[14]

The organization is no longer active.

Authorship

In 2021, Parks-Valletta published his first book, Making It: An Artist’s Handbook for Mental Success, which he described as a practical guide for creative professionals based on his experiences in the entertainment industry.[15]

In 2023, he released a children's fiction book titled Frankie’s Note, a story that explores themes of friendship, transformation, and personal growth.

Personal life

In 2017, Parks-Valletta appeared in the sixth season of the Bravo reality television series Vanderpump Rules, during which he was in a relationship with cast member Scheana Shay. The relationship was featured throughout the season and received coverage in entertainment media. [16] The couple separated later that year. [17][18][19][20]
