Revista Oeste is a Brazilian weekly digital magazine founded on March 27, 2020, by Jairo Leal, Augusto Nunes, and José Roberto Guzzo. It focuses on political journalism, with an editorial line aligned to the right, advocating positions such as social conservatism and economic liberalism.[1]

History

The Revista Oeste was founded on March 27, 2020, by journalists Jairo Leal, Augusto Nunes, and José Roberto Guzzo. It focuses on political reporting, with an editorial line aligned with the Brazilian political right, social conservatism, and economic liberalism.[2]

On November 23, 2022, the revista Oeste launched the program Oeste sem Filtro on its YouTube channel. The show is broadcast live from Monday to Friday, from 5:45 PM to 7:30 PM. According to audience data, the program often surpassed the viewership of its competitor Os Pingos nos Is from Jovem Pan.[3][4]

On January 30, 2023, Revista Oeste entered into a partnership agreement with Rádio Estúdio 92.3 FM in Cascavel, Paraná. Under this agreement, Oeste Sem Filtro, a program produced by Revista Oeste, began daily broadcasts on the station.[5]

On July 27, 2024, part of the programming from Revista Oeste, including the show Oeste Sem Filtro, began broadcasting on the TVD News channel on Channel 581 via Digital Satellite, reaching an estimated potential audience of 12 million households.[6]

In October 2024, Revista Oeste was a finalist for the Most Admired Journalists award in the Press of Economics, Business, and Finance, with reporters Amanda Sampaio, Carlo Cauti, and commentator Luís Artur Nogueira nominated in the Journalist category.[7]

On February 27, 2025, Revista Oeste announced the hiring of Milton Neves, a sports journalist with over 55 years of experience. Neves has previously worked with broadcasters such as Jovem Pan and Rádio Bandeirantes, and has hosted programs including Debate Bola and Terceiro Tempo.[8][9] On June 18, 2025, Revista Oeste announced on its YouTube program Oeste Sem Filtro—also carried by satellite channel TVD News—the forthcoming launch of a 24-hour cable television channel named Oeste TV. The magazine stated the new outlet will offer a variety of programming, but did not provide an exact launch date, indicating only that the service is expected to debut in the second half of 2025.[10]

On August 2, 2025, Revista Oeste reported that José Roberto Dias Guzzo, known as J. R. Guzzo, passed away at the age of 82 due to a heart attack. He was a prominent Brazilian journalist and one of the founders of Oeste.[11][12] On August 18, 2025, Revista Oeste launched its first sports program, Esporte Sem Firula, on its YouTube channel at noon. Hosted by Milton Neves, the two-hour program provides analysis and commentary on major sports events while encouraging real-time interaction through social media.[13][14] Concurrently, the magazine relocated its headquarters to a new address featuring three studios dedicated to its programming—an initiative tied to the upcoming launch of Oeste TV, the magazine's own television channel, expected before the end of the year.[15] On 18 August 2025, the Rondônia-based radio station Conecta 107.9 FM announced on its website that it would begin carrying the program Oeste Sem Filtro, produced by Revista Oeste, starting 25 August of that year. This arrangement marked the magazine's first broadcast partnership to reach the audience of the state of Rondônia.[16]
