History
Raymond Ltd. was incorporated as Raymond Woollen Mill in 1925 by Albert Raymond and Abraham Jacob Raymond near Thane Creek. Lala Kailashpat Singhania took over Raymond Woollen Mill in 1944. The Raymond Retail showroom, King's Corner, was opened at Ballard Estate in Mumbai in 1958.[5] In 1968, Raymond established a garment plant in Thane, and in 1979, a new manufacturing facility was set up in Jalgaon (Maharashtra) to meet the rising demand for worsted woollen fabrics.
In 2000, Vijaypat Singhania handed over the company to his younger son, Gautam Singhania, and in 2015, he transferred 37.57% of the total shares to him.[6]
In November 2015, Raymond announced the appointments of Sanjay Behl as CEO and M Shivkumar as CFO.[7]
