Ravenhill is a former coal mining village[1] in the Cannock Chase District of Staffordshire, England. It is located between Brereton and Rugeley. The village is now mostly a residential area. It forms part of the wider Brereton and Ravenhill parish.
History
Ravenhill was built around the "Ravenhill House", which was built between 1772 and 1787 by Assheton Curzon, 1st Viscount Curzon. The house later was owned by numerous families including the Snyed family and the Curzon family.[2] During World War I, the house was converted into a Voluntary Aid Detachment hospital to treat injured troops.[3] The house was converted back to residential use before its demolition in 1993.[4][5] Today, Ravenhill Park now occupies the site of the former house and is a public park.

The village is predominantly made up of housing estates, both historical and modern. The nearest shopping centres for the village are in both Brereton and Rugeley town centre. There is a petrol station and Co-op store in the village.

The village is served by the Chaserider bus service between Stafford, Rugeley and Lichfield. As well as the Chaserider bus service between Cannock, Hednesford, Rugeley and Uttoxeter.[6]
