Rakeway is a hamlet[1] and suburb of Cheadle in the Staffordshire Moorlands district in the county of Staffordshire, England.[2] Rakeway is located to the southeast of Cheadle and is part of the civil parish of Cheadle.
History
Rakeway is believed to date back to the pre-industrial era, when it was a small locality in Cheadle, primarily used for agriculture.[3]
Amenities
Rakeway has maintained a mixed rural and urban identity, largely due to the presence of Rakeway Road. The section towards Freehay is rural, however, where it meets Mill Road and Park Avenue. It forms a residential extension of Cheadle.[4][5]
Transport
Rakeway is served by Cheadle's Town Services bus, which is operated by Stanton's of Stoke.[6]
