Rafael Jódar (born 17 September 2006) is a Spanish tennis player. He has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 395, achieved on 18 August 2025. He won the boys' singles title at the 2024 US Open.[1]
Junior Career
Jódar won an U18 grass tournament in Roehampton in June 2024 prior to a run in the juniors at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships that saw him became the last surviving Spaniard in the competition and included a convincing straight sets victory over Tomasz Berkieta for the loss of only three games.[2] He lost in the quarter finals of the singles to Japanese player Naoya Honda.[3] He also reached the quarter finals of the boys doubles playing alongside compatriot Andreas Santamaria Roig before they lost to Czech pair Jan Kumstát and Jan Klimas.
Jódar won the boys' singles title at the 2024 US Open with a victory over second seed Kaylan Bigun in the quarter final and third seed Rei Sakamoto in the semifinal.[4][5] He defeated Nicolai Budkov Kjaer of Norway for the title, winning the match on a third set match tiebreak.[6][7]
Professional Career
2025: Maiden Challenger title
In August, Jódar won his Maiden Challenger title at the Crete Challenger, defeating Dan Added in the final.[8]
Personal life
Jódar is from Madrid,[9] He signed a letter of intent to attend the University of Virginia from 2024.[10]
