Providence Academy is a Christian school in Johnson City, Tennessee, serving grades K-12. Providence Academy functions "in loco parentis," recognizing that the ultimate responsibility to educate a child remains with parents. The school aims to equip students to achieve academic excellence and develop spiritual maturity. As a classical school, Providence Academy is guided by classical works and disciplines. Unlike many public schools, Providence values the fine arts along with the teachings of Latin and other specific classes.
In 2025 it had about 574 students.[1] Knights are the school mascot.
Its football team was established in 2022.[2] Daniel Kilgore coaches the football team.[3] It also has a baseball team and plays John S. Battle High School of Bristol, Virginia and Science Hill High School.[4]
