Pelecium zophos is a species of beetle of the family Carabidae. This species is found in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro).
Description
Adults reach a length of about 13 mm. They have an ovate, flat body. The disc of the head, pronotum and elytra are shiny black in dorsal view, with light metallic violaceus reflections alongside.
Etymology
The species name is derived from Greek zophos (meaning darkness) and refers to the dark dorsal colour.[1]
