Pahar Pur Thal (Urdu: پہاڑ پور تھل) is a town located in Layyah, Punjab, Pakistan, having population about 33,000 people [1]. The name is originated from Pahar Khan, who reportedly, founded the town. [2] The town is situated almost 8 km from the eastern bank of Sindh River.
Saraiki is most common mother-tongue spoken here, however, there is also Punjabi around 9.6% and Pashtu around 0.8%.
Education
With overall literacy rate of 56.2% the town has many schools and private coaching centres that mostly offer education upto secondary school. However the students have to travel on daily basis for college studies.
Healthcare
Besides numerous private clinics, there is a Rural Health Center (RHC) that offer basic healthcare facilities which is renovated, recently, and renamed as "Maryam Nawaz Health Center" as a part of healthcare initiatives of CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
People and Culture
The people of this region are regarded as most loving with Saraiki is regarded as the sweetest language in Pakistan. The land is rich in culture and tradition.
