Pınar Akyol (born 2 October 2003) is a Turkish track and field athlete who competes in the shot put. She has won multiple medals at international under-20 and under-23 competitions.

Career

Akyol began athletics in Eskişehir and made her international debut in 2019, winning gold at the Balkan U20 Indoor Championships in Istanbul and the Balkan U20 Championships in Cluj-Napoca.[1] The same year, she took silver at the 2019 European Athletics U20 Championships in Borås with a throw of 16.19 m.[2] She also claimed gold at the 2019 European Youth Olympic Festival in Baku with a personal best of 17.88 m.[3]

In 2021, Akyol won gold at the 2021 European Athletics U20 Championships in Tallinn and silver at the 2021 World Athletics U20 Championships in Nairobi, throwing 16.80 m and 16.72 m, respectively.[4][5] She set her outdoor personal best of 17.65 m at the European Throwing Cup in Split, Croatia, finishing first.

At the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships in Cali, Akyol again won silver, making her the first Turkish athlete to win medals at two different World U20 Championships.[6] The same year, she won silver at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games (held in 2022 in Konya) and placed third at the Balkan Athletics Championships in Izmir in 2024.
