Orgyiodes
Orgyiodes is a genus of moths in the family Notodontidae. The genus was erected by William Warren in 1897.[1] It is known for its diverse range of species, often characterized by tufts of scales on their wings or bodies that give them a “prominent” appearance when at rest.[2]
Species within Orgyiodes are primarily found in Africa, with a notable presence in Southern Africa.[3]
Like other members of the Notodontidae family, Orgyiodes moths often have distinctive resting postures, and their caterpillars can be quite hairy or have unusual shapes.[2]
