Olivia Phikani is a Malawian footballer in the National team's defenders and the Ntopwa Women’s Football Team who won the 2022 FAM National Women’s Championship.

Life

The 2022 FAM National Women’s Championship was settled when her team of Ntopwa Women’s Football Team beat the Ascent Academy in a penalty shoot-out after the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Phikani was one of the five Ntopwas players who took the winning five penalties.[1] In August 2023 the team chosen by James Sangala travelled to Durban in South Africa to take part in the CAF Women’s Champion’s League/ Cosafa Qualifiers.[2]

In April she went to South Africa was part of the team playing two matches against the South Africa women's national soccer team. The team was depleted because of confusion which led to the Temwa sisters and Rose Kabzere not being available.[3]

She was part of Maggie Chombo-Sadiki's national under-20 team who beat the Central African Republic team in a match played at the Bingu National Stadium. She scored the third goal adding to two by Fatima Lali which resulted in a 3-1 win.[4]

In June 2025 she was chosen as part of Lovemore Fazili's 24 strong Malawian National team to play Morocco in Casablanca. She left the Kukoma Ntopwa Women team to join the coach with the rest of the team training in Blantyre before they departed. She was in the defence team and they were given particular attention by the coach.[5][6]
