Norwood is a census-designated place (CDP) in Cherokee and Muskogee counties, Oklahoma, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 1,679.[3]
Geography
The CDP is mainly in western Cherokee County and extends to the south into the northeast corner of Muskogee County. It is bordered to the southeast by Woodall. U.S. Route 62 forms the southern edge of the CDP; it leads west 4 miles (6 km) to Fort Gibson and northeast 16 miles (26 km) to Tahlequah, the Cherokee county seat. Norwood Mountain is in the northern part of the CDP.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the Norwood CDP has a total area of 32.46 square miles (84.07 km2), of which 0.03 square miles (0.08 km2), or 0.08%, are water.[1] The Arkansas River is 2 miles (3 km) west of the community.
