Career

Okhlopkov was born in Krestyakhsky Nasleg, Suntarsky District, Sakha Republic, Russia.[1] In 2016, he became the wrestling champion of Yakutia.[2]

He acquired Romanian citizenship in September 2018 and soon began competing under the Romanian flag.[3] That year, he won a bronze medal in the 61 kg event at the 2018 U23 World Wrestling Championships held in Bucharest.[4]

In 2019, Okhlopkov earned a silver medal at the prestigious Ivan Yarygin Grand Prix in the 61 kg category.[5]

His biggest success came in February 2020, when he captured a bronze medal at the European Wrestling Championships in Rome, defeating Moldova's Nicolai Ceban in the bronze medal match.[6]

He also participated in the 2020 Individual World Cup in Belgrade, but lost in the quarterfinals to Vazgen Tevanyan of Armenia and was eliminated in the repechage by Moldova’s Nicolai Grahmez.[7]
