Mr. Alhaj Mushfiqur Rahman MP is a senior Bangladeshi politician. Former Secretary, Former Alternate Executive Director of the World Bank and Former Member of Parliament from Brahmanbaria-4 ( Akhaura and Kasba ) constituency and Former Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of the Ministry of Finance. He was the founder of Desh TV . He is the 4th Honorary Member of the Advisory Council of the Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) ( Vice Chairman of the Central Committee ) and the current 2nd Member of the Advisory Council of Brahmanbaria District BNP.
Career
Mr. Mushfiqur Rahman was an officer of the Administration Cadre of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS). He joined the Administration Cadre through BCS. In his long administrative career, he has served in various important positions, including Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Secretary, Joint Secretary, Additional Secretary, Secretary and Alternate Executive Director of the World Bank.
He was elected as a member of parliament in the 8th parliamentary election of 2001 as a candidate of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party .
Mushfiqur Rahman was born into a wealthy family in the western suburb of Satura Sharif village in Akhaura upazila of Brahmanbaria district .
