The Miserendino Caves (Spanish: Cueva de Miserendino) are rock cave formations located near Santiago de Chiquitos in the Santa Cruz Department of Bolivia.[1][1][2] These caves are situated within the Serranía de Santiago, part of the Tucabaca Valley Municipal Reserve, and include a main gallery approximately 55 meters in length with an entrance about 2.5 meters high and 2 meters wide.[3][1] Named after Juan Miserendino di Giorgio,[4] an Italian hermit who lived in the area in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the caves contain ancient rock paintings.[5]
