Mileikowsky
Mileikowsky (Russian: Милейковский, feminine Милейковская; Polish: Milejkowski, feminine Milejkowska; Hebrew: מיליקובסקי or מילייקובסקי), sometimes Milikowsky, is a Russian Jewish surname, related to various villages named Milejków/Mileykovo, Milejki/Milyeyki, Mileikiai, or similarly, in the Russian Empire.[1] It is often inaccurately associated with Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu (born 1949), although he has never legally borne the surname. People who were born with the name include:
- Benzion Mileikowsky (later Netanyahu; 1910–2012), Polish-born Israeli encyclopedist, historian and medievalist, father of Benjamin Netanyahu
- Izrael Milejkowski (1887–1943), Polish Jewish physician and civic activist
- Nathan Mileikowsky (1879–1935), Russian-born Zionist political activist, Rabbi and writer, grandfather of Benjamin Netanyahu
- Roni Milo (né Milikovsky; born 1949), Israeli politician, lawyer and journalist
