Michiel Zwart (born 8 November 1986) is a Dutch international water polo referee, who has officiated at major global tournaments, including the 2020 Summer Olympics and World Aquatics events.[1]

Career

Zwart began his international refereeing career in the early 2000s and was selected to officiate at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games (held in 2021), where he refereed multiple men’s and women’s matches, such as Serbia vs Spain and ROC vs China.[1]

He continues to serve as a referee in top-tier competitions like the World Aquatics World Cup (Division 1, Bucharest 2025) and the Champions League Men matches.[2][3]

Zwart ranks among the top Dutch referees listed by World Aquatics and the World Water Polo Referee Association as a neutral official in elite-level water polo assignments.[4][2]
