Miłcz [miu̯t͡ʂ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Wołów, within Wołów County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.[1]
History
In the Middle Ages, the area was part of Piast-ruled Poland. The suffix -dorf of the German name Arnsdorf is typical for settlements founded by Germans during Medieval Ostsiedlung.[2] The region became a part of Bohemia (Czechia) of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation and later German states. During World War II, it was the location of a forced labour subcamp of the Nazi German prison for youth in Wołów.[3] In 1945, following Germany's defeat in World War II, the village became part of Poland.
Sports
The local football team is Sparta Miłcz.[4] It competes in the lower leagues.
