Marc-André Charguéraud (30 September 1924 – 10 August 2025) was a French-born Swiss historian and businessman.[1]
Life and career
Born in Boulogne-Billancourt on 30 September 1924,[2] Charguéraud attended secondary school in Le Chambon-sur-Lignon, where he later recounted his experiences with the Jewish community in the commune.[3] He volunteered for the Free French Forces in 1944 and thereafter earned a degree in law and political sciences from Sciences Po and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University. He then held executive roles in various corporations, such as the Groupe Bull, Capgemini, and SGS S.A..[4][5] He was also a co-founder of the International Museum of the Reformation in Geneva and wrote numerous books on the history of the Holocaust.[6]
Charguéraud died on 10 August 2025, at the age of 100.[7]
