Lyten, Inc. is a U.S. battery and advanced-materials company founded in 2015 and headquartered in San Jose, California, currently developing lithium–sulfur batteries which are hoped to be 66% less expensive than the lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles today.[1]
Lyten has received over $600 million in funding from multiple investors, including Stellantis, FedEx and the United States government.[1][4] In 2024 they announced plans for a lithium–sulfur gigafactory in Reno, Nevada.[1] In 2025 Lyten agreed to acquire key Swedish and German assets from bankrupt lithium-ion battery developer Northvolt.[1][5]
