Luigi Caputo

Luigi Caputo is an Italian photographer, working frequently for the Salzburg Festival.

Biography

Luigi Caputo was born in Rome. He completed his training as a graphic designer and thereafter studied architecture. In 1994, his collaboration with the Salzburg Festival began, a collaboration that continues to this day. In addition the festival, his work focuses on nature photography, architecture and portraits. Luigi Caputo works for international magazines and advertising agencies. He is a member of the German photo agency laif.[1] His portrait of Simon Wiesenthal is on the cover of the English edition of the biography by Tom Segev.[2] His Gesamtkunstwerk book from 2025 won the ICMA Gold Award 2025 for photography books.[3]

He is the two-time winner of Salzburger Landespreis in the photography category.[4] He lives in Austria and Italy.
